Making Apps for Fun

In my spare time I love going along to hack days, meeting others and creating web apps.

I would like to chat about how I created 8 apps in 8 weeks for the AppMyState / Apps4NSW competition in 2010.
This was an awesome experience and I learnt so much just from doing it!
I hadn't even used PHP before creating my first app, a google maps mashup for the MashupAustralia comp in late 2009.
Since then I have really come a long way and it's been a lot of fun :)

This is my fave - it mashes Google Maps, Google Calendar and using PHP and MySQL DB to show events nearby and allows users to register for calendar / sms reminders :)
